Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has reestablished mandatory driving tests for new drivers after facing backlash for waving the in person test that had been required to recieve a license. The measure was enacted as a precaution to slow the spread of coronavirus and deal with backlog. During the few weeks that in person driving tests have not been required, over 20,000 Georgia teens were able to get licenses without being tested.
The new updates will require that every individual who recieved a license without a test will now have to pass a driving test by September 2020 or face it being revoked.
